Having worked over a decade in the environmental clean-up business, Travis Whittle understood the importance of effective industrial waste removal and disposal.
The process of waste removal often used devices of controlled debris, such as septic tanks, grease traps and oil water separators.
Inspiration for Pit Crew came when he realized that these types of devices were primarily designed for businesses like restaurants, hospitals, and power plants—not car washes.
Car wash companies were left having to find alternative methods of waste removal, most of which were overly expensive and unsafe for the environment.
Pit Crew changes that.

Founding Pit Crew to Serve the Car Wash Industry
In 1998, Travis founded Pit Crew to give car wash owners an efficient, economical and environmentally safe option for debris removal and disposal.
Pit Crew is the largest company in the nation that specializes solely in the removal and disposal of car wash waste. All of its technicians are well-trained and skilled in using the tank equipment.
Based in Richmond, VA, Pit Crew has expanded to servicing car washes in 13 states along the East Coast.
