How Car Washes Are Staying Positive in COVID-19

How Car Washes Are Staying Positive in COVID-19

Car washes are finding new ways to make the best out of the coronavirus quarantine by getting creative with their business. They are doing good in their communities, despite the state of the world right now. Whether it be through fundraisers, thoughtful gifts, or supporting local businesses, everyone is finding new ways to come together.

Highlighting Thriving Car Washes

This is especially true for car washes across the United States. With some states allowing these businesses to stay open, many car washes have found creative ways of supporting themselves while giving back to their customers and community. We managed to narrow down the list to 5 things car washes are doing to help spread positivity when it’s needed most.

Note: Make sure to check your state’s guidelines for what counts as an essential business before trying to operate your car wash. Each state has to decide what they consider essential and non-essential, and car washes are not guaranteed to always be determined essential.

1. Changing Services to be More Convenient

While self-quarantining measures have given people more free time at home, that doesn’t mean they always have the time or means to easily get their car washed. Parents have to make meals and support their kids, while other people may be running low on funds.

Because of these reasons, many car washes have made changes to their services to make them more convenient. Tommy’s Express Car Wash, which is a national chain, responded to the Coronavirus concerns by making many changes, including reducing the price of interior cleaning supplies.

Small changes like reducing the price of certain services can help those in a financial bind still get the sanitation their car needs, therefore bringing more business to your car wash.

2. Offer Discounts For Essential Workers

Many people are still working to provide essential services for everyone else. From doctors and nurses, to restaurant servers or post office workers, these people are risking their lives to make sure the world can still run properly. Because of that, it’s not a bad idea to recognize these heros by offering your unique services.

Autobell Car Wash located on the east coast offers free interior car disinfection for healthcare workers. On the other side of the country, Quick Quack Car Wash has weekly giveaways on their social media channels that offer free car washes for a year for teachers and first responders.

Deals like these can be huge stress-reliefs for those working on the front lines. Plus, it brings more business to your car wash, either from the people taking advantage of the discounts, or from those looking to support a business that helps others.

3. Host Fundraiser Events

With the Coronavirus closing down many businesses, there are plenty of people who need financial or lifestyle help. Many nonprofits have taken action and increased their services to meet the ever growing demands of struggling people in America.

One way to help out these nonprofits is to host your own fundraising event or special deals with your car wash. Mike’s Car Wash, which has locations nationwide, has special events where if people buy certain wash packages, they will donate money to nonprofits in the community. Not only is this a way to increase business, but it’s also a way for you to get involved in helping the community.

4. Active Social Media Engagement

With most people stuck at home, many companies and businesses have taken this opportunity to become more active on social media. With a large audience looking to be entertained, now is the time for your car wash business to engage with its followers.

Rich’s Car Wash in the Southern United States has started to share weekly family projects and questions on their Facebook page. They give instructions for how to make rainbow colored soap foam and ask their followers how they’re staying entertained during quarantine.

By engaging with your audience by sharing interesting content or checking up with them on a regular basis, you’re helping to get them busy and safe by staying at home. You can also employ the help of your employees, giving them social media work if their hours have been reduced at the car wash.

5. What Are Some of Your COVID-19 Ideas?

While we’ve listed four car washes around the country that have found ways to adapt their businesses for COVID-19, there are many ways to help your business during this time. Brainstorm some ideas that will not only engage your customers, but will also help you financially.

Most importantly, keep in mind that we’re all in this together. What works for one business might be perfect for you, so don’t be afraid to reach out to other businesses to get advice and help each other out.
